A shocking murder case linked to a long-standing financial dispute over vehicle financing has created panic in Yavatmal after a young man was brutally stabbed to death in broad daylight. The incident took place around 7:35 AM on Thursday, May 21, near the Hanuman Temple in the Vidarbha Housing Society area of Jamankar Nagar.

The deceased has been identified as Sachin “Yeda” Rathod (28), a resident of Jamankar Nagar, Yavatmal. According to police sources, Rathod worked for Patil Enterprises, where he was involved in vehicle seizure operations related to finance recovery cases.

As per the complaint filed by his uncle Bhola Rathod, Sachin was sitting near the temple with his friends Rohan Shinde, Pranit Kale, Om Rupnar, Moin Qazi, and Zeeshan when the accused, identified as Bakul alias Shahid Sheikh, arrived on an Activa scooter. Initially, the suspect reportedly spoke briefly with Moin Qazi and left the spot. However, he returned within five minutes and called Sachin aside, saying he wanted to talk privately.

Police say the accused suddenly pulled out a knife hidden near his waist and repeatedly attacked Sachin. Friends who rushed to save him, including Zeeshan and Moin Qazi, were also injured in the assault. Attempting to escape, Sachin ran through a nearby lane, but the attacker allegedly chased him on the scooter and stabbed him again near the Sanskrutik Bhavan road.

Sachin was rushed to the Government Hospital by his friends but was declared dead by doctors. Acting swiftly, Avdhutwadi Police detained three to four suspects in connection with the murder. Further investigation is underway under the supervision of Police Inspector Nandkishor Kale.
