Gadchiroli: Panchsheel Buddha Vihar Inaugurated in Chamorshi

Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra minister Vijay Wadettiwar attended the inauguration and idol installation ceremony of the Panchsheel Buddha Vihar at Kishtapur Tola (Yenapur) in Chamorshi taluka during his visit to Gadchiroli district. The event was organized jointly by the Panchsheel Bauddha Samaj Mandal and Savitribai Phule Mahila Mandal and witnessed the participation of a large number of devotees and local residents.

During the program, Vijay Wadettiwar paid his humble tributes to Tathagata Gautama Buddha and highlighted the significance of Buddha’s teachings in today’s society. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the values of peace, compassion, equality, and non-violence that form the foundation of Buddhist philosophy.

The newly inaugurated Panchsheel Buddha Vihar is expected to serve as a center for spiritual learning, social awareness, and community development in the region. The installation of the Buddha idol marked a significant milestone for the local Buddhist community, which has been actively working to preserve and promote the teachings of Lord Buddha.

Speaking to the followers and community members present at the event, Wadettiwar urged everyone to continue spreading the message of non-violence and harmony taught by Gautama Buddha. He stated that Buddha’s teachings remain relevant even in the modern era, where society faces challenges related to conflict, inequality, and social divisions.

He further appealed to citizens, especially the younger generation, to adopt the principles of humanity, tolerance, and mutual respect in their daily lives. According to him, the path shown by Buddha can play a crucial role in strengthening social unity and fostering peaceful coexistence among people of different backgrounds.

The event concluded with prayers, cultural activities, and interactions between community leaders and attendees. Several dignitaries, social workers, and local representatives were also present on the occasion.

Vijay Wadettiwar’s participation in the ceremony reflected his continued engagement with social and cultural initiatives across Maharashtra.
