Administrative Negligence Puts Patients’ Lives at Risk in Dongaon
A shocking incident exposing serious flaws in the healthcare system has come to light in the Dongaon area. Several unauthorized pathology laboratories are reportedly operating in Dongaon and nearby villages without qualified medical degrees or valid pathology licenses. These illegal diagnostic centers are allegedly being run by untrained individuals, directly endangering the health and lives of patients. The incident has created outrage among local residents and raised serious questions about the negligence of the health administration.
According to available information, there has been a rapid increase in pathology labs across Dongaon over the past few months. As per government regulations, operating a pathology laboratory requires either an MD Pathologist qualification or a government-recognized DMLT (Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology) certification. In addition, all pathology reports must carry the signature of an authorized pathologist. However, several labs in Dongaon are allegedly being operated by lab assistants or people with no medical background at all. These individuals are reportedly collecting blood and urine samples from patients and preparing medical reports on their own.
Reliable sources have also claimed that some centers are misusing digital signatures of reputed doctors from other locations to print fake medical reports. This serious malpractice has triggered anger among local citizens. Residents are questioning why the Taluka Medical Officer and health authorities are ignoring the issue despite such illegal businesses openly operating near main roads and hospitals.
Citizens have demanded an immediate investigation into all pathology laboratories in the Dongaon area. They have urged senior officials to inspect the labs and take strict action against those lacking valid qualifications and registration certificates. Locals have warned that such laboratories should be sealed and criminal cases registered against the operators, otherwise a strong public protest will be launched.
Wrong Reports Can Be Life-Threatening
A pathology report forms the foundation of medical treatment for any illness. If a report is inaccurate, doctors may provide incorrect treatment or fail to diagnose the disease properly, putting patients’ lives at serious risk. Innocent and less-educated patients from rural areas are especially vulnerable to falling into the trap of these fake lab operators. Residents say this dangerous practice, driven purely by greed for money, must be stopped immediately to protect public health.
